If you suffer from ingrowning toenails, you may benefit from from nail surgery

Nails

Ingrowing Toenails
An ingrowing toenail occurs when a spike of nail pierces the skin due to a combination of your natural nail shape, poor nail-cutting and/or trauma which causes extreme pain. If not treated quickly and effectively, ingrowing toenails often become infected leading to the need for antibiotics. Ingrowing toenails may require a minor surgical procedure toresolve and prevent reoccurrence.

Nail Surgery
If you suffer from ingrowing toenails, you may benefit from Nail Surgery. This minor procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, with a section of the problematic nail removed. We recommend chemical ablation of the nail bed to prevent reoccurrence. This procedure is called a partial or total nail avulsion and takes about 45-60 minutes. We advise that you take the day off work or school. Healing usually takes a few weeks and the end result is in most cases aesthetically pleasing and pain free.

Nail Conditions
People of all ages and mobility experience difficulty in cutting and caring for their own toenails. Regular routine podiatry treatment together with advice from our Podiatrists can ensure that your nails remain healthy, pain free and looking their best.

Fungal Nails
Fungal nails can become unsightly, often thickened, discoloured/yellow/brown and brittle as well as highly contagious to other nails and the rest of the foot. We can advise on the best course of action and treatment.

Our expert Podiatrists can remove the corns and callus alongside advice on how prevent further incidence

Skin

Corns and Callus
Brought on by a combination of foot shape, poor biomechanics and external pressure which results in thickening of the skin. This thickening is the body’s attempt to prevent damage to deeper tissues and structures. In extreme cases you may experience pain and local inflammation with possible infection. Our expert Podiatrists can remove the corns and callus alongside advice on how prevent further incidence. We can also advise on excessive perspiration, smelly feet, heel fissures and common skin infections.

Skin Infections
Athlete’s Foot is the most common of fungal skin infections, with the skin surface becoming very dry, red and itchy. If left untreated you may experience cracked, painful and bleeding feet.
Fungal infections can spread quickly to infect other nails and areas of the foot, as well as to other people you have contact with - so it is important to see us as soon as possible.

Verruca/Plantar Warts
The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a skin virus that is highly contagious both to the patient and to others. Whilst we offer many different verruca treatments, not all treatments are suitable for every patient. Our Podiatrists can discuss and advise you on the best course of action to suit you, the presentation of your verruca and your lifestyle. We have a number of different Verruca treatments including SWIFT, Verrutop, Falknor's Needling, Electrocautery and Cryotherapy.

We can also assist with blisters and foreign bodies (eg glass and splinters).
